Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Honest Tax Relief (“Honest Tax Relief,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit honesttaxrelief.com or submit a request for guidance. Effective date: October 19, 2026.

Operator / contact: Sam Lepore  |  snlepore@gmail.com

Important: Honest Tax Relief is an independent educational and lead-matching service. We are not the IRS or any government agency, and we are not a CPA firm, law firm, or enrolled agent practice. Submitting information does not create an attorney-client, tax-advisor, or fiduciary relationship. Results vary; no outcome is guaranteed.

1. Notice at collection

We collect personal information you submit on forms (such as name, email, phone number, state, and a description of your tax situation) and limited technical data from your device (such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed). We use this information to respond to your inquiry, operate the website, improve our services, and—when you consent—match you with independent tax-resolution professionals or partner companies who may contact you by phone, text, or email about related services. We may sell or share (as those terms are defined under California law) identifiers and inquiry details with such partners for lead matching. We do not ask for Social Security numbers, full bank account numbers, or IRS online account credentials through this website—please do not send them. Retention criteria are described in Section 7. To opt out of sale/sharing or marketing contact, see Sections 8–9 or email snlepore@gmail.com.

3. How we use information

4. How we share information (including lead matching)

We may disclose personal information to:

We do not sell your information in a public marketplace of random buyers unrelated to tax-resolution help. We do share lead data with partners in the tax-help / financial-resolution category as described above. Under California law, that activity may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. See Section 9 to opt out.

The companies we currently share requests with, if any, are named on our Partners page. Form submissions are received and stored by our hosting and form-processing provider (Vercel) and emailed to the site operator so we can respond.

Partner companies are separate businesses with their own privacy practices. Once you engage with a partner, their policy also applies to information they collect directly from you.

5. Calls, texts, and marketing consent

If you provide a phone number and give prior express written consent on our forms (for example, by checking an unchecked consent box), you authorize Honest Tax Relief and our tax-resolution marketing partners to contact you at that number by telephone call or text message (SMS/MMS), including using an automatic telephone dialing system, artificial or prerecorded voice, and/or manual dialing, about tax-debt help and related offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any property, goods, or services.

This Privacy Policy alone is not consent. Consent is collected on the form disclosure you see at submission, and covers only us and the companies named on our Partners page at that time. You may revoke marketing call/text consent at any time (see Section 8). We aim to honor revocation within a reasonable time not to exceed ten (10) business days.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar tools to keep the site working, remember preferences, measure traffic, and understand which pages are useful. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect site features. If we use advertising or analytics tags that involve “sharing” under California law, you may also use the opt-out methods in Section 9.

7. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy—typically for the life of your inquiry and related partner matching, plus a period needed for compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and consent recordkeeping (often up to several years for TCPA documentation)—unless a longer period is required by law. When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify information where feasible.

8. Your choices and opt-out

Opting out of marketing does not stop purely transactional messages that may be required to confirm a request you made, where permitted by law.

9. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, including the right to know/access, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing of personal information, limit use of sensitive personal information (when applicable), and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
